this occurs at mrt stations. i'm sure u would have noticed. this happens mostly to ladies. dun know why too. this is what happens
at peak hours, after the train reaches a particular station n all the communters make their way to the gantry to exit from the station, some of the people especially ladies will jam up the flow when their ez-link card cannot be scanned. upon further observation, i noticed that their purses are so thick that it's no wonder the card couldn't be scanned. however, upon the failure of the first try, they should proceed to take the card out from their purses and scan it. however, tht's not that case. they keep on trying without taking out the card even though there's a queue forming up behind them when everyone's in a rush. i seriously wonder why. is it that troublesome to take the card out to scan it and then put it back into the purse? isn't it more embarassing to hold up everyone??
they may rebuke saying that the gantry is lousy. but if that's the case, how come it can be approved for use? if it can be put into operation, it would had attained a certain standard so the problem isn't with the card reader. they should take a look at their own thick purses!!
on the other hand, it's interesting to observe these people trying n trying to scan their cards at the gantry where everyone else is flowing out smoothly. they seemed baffled at why their cards cannot be scanned. hahaa....
